HEARTSafe since 2013

The Simsbury Volunteer Ambulance Association has worked over the past several years to elevate Simsbury to a HEARTSafe status.

Heartsaver classes are scheduled through December 2018. Please see the training center page for more information.

The State of Connecticut Department Department of Public Health has collaborated with the American Heart Association to develop a HEARTSafe community program for towns and workplaces in the state of Connecticut. As a part of this program, the Simsbury Volunteer Ambulance Association has offered CPR and AED training for residents so that they'll be ready to act when a cardiac arrest occurs. A HEARTSafe community promotes CPR training in the community, public access to defibrillation through the strategic placement of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) for use by both public safety professionals and trained community members, CPR/AED trained first responders, and early advanced care.
